Massage Therapy has rapidly gained recognition and respect in all communities as a viable means of maintaining good health. Massage Therapists work as part of a team of healthcare professionals to preserve health, prevent disease and injury, and restore maximum functional ability when health is lost.

Aches, pain, repetitive strain or chronic injuries? Have you heard about the benefits of massage and wondered about giving it a try?

D’Arcy Lane Institute provides a supervised public student clinic which provides the training opportunity for our students to perfect practical application, and to familiarize the students with the effects of techniques and treatments. Our clinic also provides the public with the opportunity to seek massage for their concerns at a reduced rate while also providing a learning opportunity for our students.

What you can expect when booking a massage with our student clinic.

Your student therapist will perform a full body assessment for you. The purpose of this assessment is to determine the nature of your concerns and which body structures are involved. This will assist your student in treating you as safely and effectively as possible.

Your assessment will include:

  • Health History

  • Client Contract and Informed Consent

  • Postural Analysis

  • Range of Motion Testing

  • Orthopedic Testing as necessary

Your assessment is free of charge. You must have an assessment before receiving your first massage from one of our students and a subsequent reassessment if it has been a full calendar year since your previous one. We ask that you bring a pair of shorts and a t-shirt to change into for your assessment. Your assessment may take up to 50 minutes.

Your massage appointment will also be 50 minutes in length and will include informed consent and possible reassessment (as needed) prior to receiving your massage. Reassessment, for example, observing the available range of movement in your shoulder as compared to your prior treatment, will allow the students to evaluate your progress and how effective your treatment has been.

Due to the fact that this is a teaching facility we are unable to accept requests.
